Recommended by past participants. "I recommend Professor Escudero for Business Strategies." "I took this course with Prof. Amparo Merino de Diego, who I would recommend to any other students studying at ICADE. There were many exchange students in the class, and she was very accommodating to different levels of Spanish knowledge, as well as differences in time zones once we went online. The course covered a wide array of topics related to business strategy, including diversification, mergers and acquisitions, and international expansion. It focused heavily on case studies, which we worked on in-class and for homework, either with groups or individually. We had a semester-long group project in which students selected a company and analyzed various elements of its global and domestic strategies. Additionally, we had online quizzes every few weeks on the reading that we had done in the textbook. 50% of the final grade was determined by the final exam, which we took onlineit was open note, and required students to analyze a given case study." - Past Participant, Spring 2020

See https://cps.tulane.edu/academics/petitioning-for-credit (click on "Study Abroad Credit") for more information. *Comments: *"We met once a week on Mondays for 6-8pm (but usually did not go that late). Our team of three Tulane students and one French exchange student worked with the non-profit branch of Telefonica, called ProFuturo. The non-profit asked us to make a tutorial video explaining how to properly record revenues and expenses within their portal. They provided extensive resources to our team and were always there to help when we needed it. I thought it was very cool to see our work come to fruition in the video we created. Overall, it was not too much additional work outside of the classroom and was a great way to receive credit while helping the community. I would highly recommend it to students going abroad!" - Fall 2019 participant

Comments:
"This course was centered around in-class discussion of a variety of ethical dilemmas that characterize the corporate world. We learned the theories of classical ethicists like Kant, Bentham, and Aristotle as well as those of business theorists like Milton Friedman and Ronald Coase. Prof. Pablo Gómez Santos utilized a wide array of resourcesarticles, videos, films, and the textbookto lead the debate. Our assignments included a group project on a given topic (mine was Corporate Responsibility and the Environment), two individual reflections, and a 15-20-page final paper. The paper replaced what would have been an in-class final, and required students to relate all course material to the COVID-19 pandemic, analyzing the situation from an ethical point of view." - Past Participant, Spring 2020

He comes in and uses real life examples and activities to embed the topic in his students heads. He is nontraditional in his approach and makes sure that every student is engaged throughout the semester." Another said, "Negotiations with Ignacio is really useful information and the teacher is a great guy. REGR 5380/5390

Comments:
"The Royal Collection of the Museo del Prado: I took this course to fulfill my Tulane fine arts credit, and I loved it. It was a small class of around 15 students that focused on the history of Spanish art leading up to and including the Golden Age. Prof. Mario Lopez was very passionate about the topic and sharing it with the class, most of whom were American and knew little about Spanish art. We had several individual presentations in class these were not graded explicitly, but instead contributed to our participation grades. Our graded assignments were all essays, including the final exam. This final essay could be any topic of the student's choosing that had especially interested them during the course, so long as it related to art collection and artistic propaganda. We were supposed to take a class field trip to the Museo del Prado, but this was unfortunately cancelled due to the pandemic. I would highly recommend this class to any students looking for a class on Spanish culture." - Past Participant, Spring 2020
